In the Data Foundation team, we develop and operate a platform that serves as the foundation for data exchange, reporting, analysis, and AI. Keywords such as high performance, scalability, centralized data storage, enterprise-wide deployment, providing data for internal and external apps, self-service, and more drive us day in and day out. Your contribution to success

Data Modeling & ETL/ELT Pipelines: You are responsible for designing efficient data models and orchestrating pipelines (Extract, Transform, Load). In doing so, you combine the flexibility of code with the efficiency of tools such as dbt and Matillion ETL.
Data Integration, Quality & BI: You integrate heterogeneous data sources into our Data Warehouse and establish data quality standards. You ensure that data is optimally prepared for BI tools like Looker or Tableau, enabling Data Scientists and Business Analysts to consistently access reliable insights.
Performance & Optimization: You monitor the performance of our platform (GCP/BigQuery), optimize queries, and ensure that our systems run efficiently even as data volumes grow.
Software Engineering & AI Integration: You leverage your solid Python expertise to develop complex data services. Furthermore, you drive our innovation by integrating and applying AI agents into our processes to elevate our data usage to the next level.
Data Solution Design: You design and implement scalable data solutions. Ideally, you bring experience in the architecture and operation of event-streaming platforms (e.g., Confluent Kafka) for real-time data processing.

Your success factors

Several years of professional experience in Cloud Data Engineering (ideally with GCP / BigQuery), alongside strong SQL skills and experience with BI tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau).
Solid Python development skills paired with practical experience in ETL/ELT modeling using modern tooling (dbt and/or Matillion ETL).
Practical experience in or a strong interest in integrating AI agents, LLMs, and agentic workflows into modern data products.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Clean Code principles, and agile teamwork (Scrum/Kanban) at the interface with Data Science and Business Analysts.
Strong analytical skills with an autonomous, solution-oriented drive to tackle technological challenges, combined with a collaborative mindset to share knowledge across cross-functional teams.
Fluent English (written and spoken); German language skills are a plus.
